Things that I do really well
Design
The last 9 years I've been commissioned hundreds of design projects; I became proficient with design software, such as Adobe
InDesign,
Photoshop,
Illustrator &
Lightroom. As such, I've created magazines (from layout to pre-production), brochures, business cards, menus, letterheads, logos for many clients.
Photography
Being in the field for over 8 years, I've been working in many different directions: architecture, commercial, fashion and street photography. I have advanced skills to accomplish a photoshoot of any complexity and adhering to the brief, and love directing, shooting, and doing a post production.
Web Development
I enjoy creating simple, but effective web-sites that clearly communicate the message. My code is always clean and 100% hand-written in Textmate. I create valid XHTML, CSS & Javascript. More than 40 sites have been developed since my first web-site that went live in 2001.
Places where I have worked
In early 2009 I co-founded a small company, 500px, which creates web applications for photographers and carries our consultations and assignments on design and usability, web-development and photography. I currently hold the position of a
Founder and Creative Director.
In early summer 2008 I've been invited to work as a
CEO for a social media startup. My task has been to lead a team, rethink the service, create partnerships, and develop marketing strategies and a financial plan. Our team launched the service on December 31, 2008. However, since January 2009 it was put on hold due to economic crisis.
In August 2007 I've been invited as an
Art Director to redesign and launch monthly lifestyle CASE magazine. I have been commissioned to create new layout and logo. We've launched with new sections and executed many photo sessions with Ukrainian businessmen in chic locations. The circulation doubled, but due to crisis magazine was closed in January 2008.
I worked for Salon magazine, most popular and respected interior design magazine in Ukraine from 2003 to 2006, as
freelance photographer and
writer, and have been commissioned for exhibition and architectural photo shoots in Canada, USA, Europe, and across Ukraine and Russia.
Consagro Inc.
In late 2004 I've accepted a temporary position as a Marketing manager at Consagro, a Toronto-based company involved in fertilizer and explosives business in Canada, Russia and Kazakhstan. I've been responsible for developing connections and finding market for explosives in Canada, USA and South America.
